Well after 16 years of opening our garden for the National Garden Scheme, we have decided this year will be the last.
In fact we have just one more open afternoon, which is on the 14th August.
Yes it is quite a few years of opening, but numbers of visitors have also been dropping over the last three years, compared with what we have been used to.
Why is a job to know, there are many more attractions these days, people are perhaps not so interested in gardens?
We have had to try to avoid events like Wimbledon Fortnight and more locally New Forest Show, Bournemouth Air Display and many others.
It really does affect attendances to the garden.
So what will we do in the years to come, well the garden will still be the same, it is our garden which we love. Lyn has said she would like to move to a slightly larger house and garden, but I am not keen on that! and all it entails.
So watch this space. The garden website I will still keep going, I am sure people will still like to see it, and I will keep it updated, as I have over the last six years.
Many thanks to all our visitors, some of them who have regularly visited us, which has helped us raise over £24,000 for the National Garden Scheme Charities.
In the first years we opened it was just £1.00 to come into the garden !!
So don't forget AUGUST 14th is the last opening.
Here are some pictures taken this July of the gardens.
